Terms of Service

You must meet the following requirements to use TruthTrace:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts
• Not be prohibited from using our services under applicable laws
• Have a compatible cryptocurrency wallet (MetaMask, WalletConnect, etc.)
• Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations

Wallet-Based Authentication: TruthTrace uses decentralized wallet authentication. You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your wallet and private keys.

Account Security: You agree to:

• Keep your wallet credentials secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Not share your account or wallet access with others

Lost Access: We cannot recover lost private keys or wallet access. You are solely responsible for maintaining access to your wallet.

You are solely responsible for content you upload. You agree that your content:

• Does not infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Does not contain illegal material (child exploitation, terrorist content, etc.)
• Does not violate privacy rights or contain personal data of others without consent
• Complies with all applicable laws and regulations
• Does not contain malware, viruses, or malicious code

Content Removal: We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms, but we are not obligated to monitor or review uploaded content. Note that blockchain records cannot be deleted once anchored.

Your Content: You retain all ownership rights to content you upload. By using TruthTrace, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content as necessary to provide verification services.

Our Platform: TruthTrace's platform, technology, branding, and documentation are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or reverse engineer our services without permission.

Beta Period: TruthTrace is currently free during the beta period. We will announce pricing before general availability, with special rates for early adopters.

Future Pricing: When fees are implemented, you agree to pay all applicable charges. We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice.

Blockchain Costs: You are responsible for any blockchain transaction fees (gas fees) required for wallet interactions, though TruthTrace covers blockchain anchoring costs.

You agree NOT to:

• Use TruthTrace for illegal activities or to facilitate crime
• Upload content that violates others' rights or contains harmful material
• Attempt to bypass security measures or access unauthorized areas
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from our platform
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without written permission
• Interfere with or disrupt our services or servers
• Impersonate others or provide false information
• Resell or redistribute our services without authorization

Availability: We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. TruthTrace may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues.

Beta Status: During the beta period, services may change, features may be added/removed, and we may experience bugs or issues. Your feedback helps us improve.

Service Modifications: We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of TruthTrace at any time with reasonable notice when possible.

TruthTrace is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Accuracy, completeness, or reliability of verification services
• Uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation
• Legal admissibility or evidentiary value of verification proofs
• Content uploaded by users or third parties

Blockchain Risks: Blockchain technology involves inherent risks. We are not responsible for blockchain network failures, smart contract bugs, or cryptocurrency price volatility.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TruthTrace shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

This includes damages for:

• Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
• Unauthorized access to your account or content
• Errors, interruptions, or service unavailability
• Third-party actions (IPFS storage, blockchain networks)
• Legal disputes arising from your content

Maximum Liability: Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to TruthTrace in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $100 during the free beta period).

Your Rights: You may stop using TruthTrace at any time. You can request account deletion via email to support@truthtrace.app.

Our Rights: We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Upload illegal or harmful content
• Abuse or misuse our services
• Engage in fraudulent activities

Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your access rights end immediately. Note that blockchain records are permanent and cannot be deleted even after account termination.

Informal Resolution: Before filing any legal action, you agree to contact us at support@truthtrace.app to attempt informal resolution for at least 30 days.

Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law principles.

Arbitration: Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be settled through binding arbitration in accordance with [Arbitration Rules], except where prohibited by law.

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TruthTrace.

Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full effect.

No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver.

Assignment: You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
